LLANOWARE
Presents
LW Menu Editor v0.9
<c> 1992,1993 by Bob DaCastello
(For RA 2.00 ONLY)
Welcome to LWMENU!
Sysop Documentation
Introduction:
Ok, since the release of RemoteAccess 2.00g1 everyone has been crying for
remote Menu and User Editors, well, here they are! Sorry it took so long,
but I wanted to be sure they were the best you could get!
LWMENU will allow you to edit any existing menus for any valid languages
you have installed. You may also create new menus, add additional lines
to existing menus and delete lines from existing menus.
The full 135 character Display and Optional Data lines are utilized and
available to you. Documentation is a little skimpy because it is
not really needed. Follow the prompts.
Hardware requirements:
RemoteAccess 2.00 of course! :{) LWMENU will NOT work on versions of
RA prior to RA 2.00.
Any IBM machine with DOS 3.1 or better should work just fine. Color
monitor prefered but not required. Fossil driver such as BNU or X00.sys
is also highly recommended. (Since RA requires a fossil driver, this is
not a problem huh??
LWMENU has been tested using DOS 3.3, DOS 5.0, DOS 6.0, Lantastic, Novel,
DV, QEMM, on machines ranging from XT's to 486's.
About 140k of memory is required.
An ANSI driver is required for proper operation. Color is not needed
on the local end.
Upgrading:
This is the first public release, so there is no need for upgrading,
I doubt there will be for future releases either.
Legalities:
This software and accompanying materials are distributed "as is"
without warranty, express, implied or statutory, including but not
limited to any implied warranties of merchantability and fitness
for a particular purpose. In no event shall anyone involved with
the creation and production of this product be liable for indirect,
special, or consequential damages, arising out of any use thereof
or breach of any warranty. In addition, by placing this software
upon your BBS system for use by any other person(s) or entities,
you have agreed to register this program within 30 days of
installation.
Distribution:
You may make this file available for downloading from your BBS or you may
upload it to any BBS of your choice, provided that you do not make any
changes to the contents of the archive. The archive and its individual
contents may not be used by any service that charges any money whatsoever,
without the written permission of the author.
Files included:
LWMENU.EXE Main program
LWMENU.DOC What your reading now
LWMENU.CTL Control file, please edit as needed
LW_REG.FRM Registration form for ALL LlanoWare Doors
FILE_ID.DIZ Well, you need to know what the file is, right?
Installation:
Installation is fairly easy and straight-forward. The following steps and
examples should have you up and running in a very short period of time.
It is assumed that you are familiar with setting up DOORS on your system.
To this end, only an example of the control file is described.
1) Place a copy of LWMENU.EXE and a copy of LWMENU.CTL anywhere
you wish, but they MUST reside in the same directory together.
2) Edit the LWMENU.CTL file to reflect your name, your BBS name,
your registration numbers (if registered).
Running LWMENU:
Install LWMENU as a type 7 exit with an optional data line of:
C:\PATH\LWMENU.EXE
Insert the correct pathname to find LWMENU. *M (memory
swapping) should not be unless you are running RA in an environment
that has less than 460k available. No other optional data is
required.
To run LWMENU locally, type in C:\PATH\LWMENU /L. If LWMENU is in your
path, just type in LWMENU /L. LWMENU will be able to find it's
control file as long as it is in the same directory as LWMENU.EXE
From there the prompts should take you through everything you need.
Please refer to your RA SysOp's manual for more information on
making menus.
Registration benefits:
First and foremost, knowing that you have supported the author so he can
continue his work! Besides that, the nagging "Unregistered" message goes
away! Once registered, other nice things may be available too. :{)
How to register:
For a $10.00 donation sent to the address below, you will be given a
registration number personalized just for you! If you have a valid
FIDONET address, the registration number will be sent to you directly.
Otherwise, the registration number will be sent to you via snailmail
(US Postal service). All registrations will be sent out within
3 days of receipt. See LW_REG.FRM for more info.
